How I Organize my Shoes

I'm sure my family's not the only one who loves shoes. If you don't know me and you come over for the first time, you'd probably guess that there's lots of people living at my place due to the number of shoes we have. Wrong! Lol there's only 3 of us.

Our piles of shoes literally used to be piles. I guess I never really noticed how many pairs we had until I separated them into pairs and lined them up in a row. Yea, we're kind of shoe crazy.

Now, our piles have turned into rows thanks to Target and Walmart. Yes, I said it. Walmart. I know not all of you folks favor Walmart, but I like shopping there. Alright, now back to the shoes.

This shoe rack here was my first one. It's actually 2 sets stacked on top of each other for a total of 6 rows. When I had originally purchased this and got it together, the shoes didn't sit on it very well. You see, we have lots of tennis shoes, needless to say, that most of them are high-tops. The shoe was too tall to be able to sit up right in between the rows. The only row that worked well was the very top row. All of the shoes would fall off of the rack and eventually it created a pile in front of the rack. Tired of having to put all of the shoes back, we just left them in the pile that was created. Then, a genious idea came to mind! What if I put them on the shoe rack side by side like how they would fit in a shoe box? This would make the shoe "shorter" which would allow it to sit in between the racks nicely without falling off! Genious! I've had the shoes this way for about 1 week now and so far, so good.

One obstacle I found with this particilar shoe rack was that my heels didn't really stand on it very well. I don't wear heels often but I do have a few pairs.

This rack, which I'm sure a lot of you own, I found at Walmart. It was very easy to put together and I am very satisfied with it. My closet was a mess before I put this up. I was able to get all of my heels organized and put away and now there's more room in the closet. I highly recommend this for heels. My booties and my wedges fit on perfectly as well.
